As many of you already know, a big part of my career is working with Native businesses in the federal contracting space. I have recently accepted a very special expert appointment as Senior Advisor on Native American Affairs, Office of the Secretary, Department of Commerce. For those of you in the DC area, you may see me a bit more often in Capitol Hill part of town. I am honored to be asked by Secretary Gary Locke to fill this position and thank my dear friends Kay Bills (Osage Tribe) and Prof Len Greenhalgh (Tuck School of Business / Dartmouth) for the support and encouragement ushering me into this role!
Due to my new responsibilities and travel, I have intentionally taken a hiatus from regular gigs and will keep my performances to primarily local Loudoun County venues and regional concerts.
My return to my favorite local concert stage Acoustic on the Green in downtown Leesburg this past Saturday June 27th was a smashing success. My sincerest thanks for AotG organizer Stilson Greene for having me there. Stilson says I'll be back again next season, so that already makes my 2010 summer perfect!
I have some excellent new gigs at Lightfoot and Dry Mill Winery in Leesburg. Just love playing the local stuff out here in God's country!
Larry Burnett of Firefall and I performed at the Shenendoah Coffeehouse Series back on Saturday evening October 11, 2008! Most of the music was from our upcoming CD tentatively entitled "Guitars & Vocals" as well as a couple of Firefall tunes sprinkled in. You can check out some of the performance on YouTube. Gear:
My good friends at Port City Guitars and the Santa Cruz Guitar Company have just provided me with a beautiful Santa Cruz DH model. A very special thanks to my life-long friend Ken Garm who made this all possible! What an honor to be playing a Santa Cruz! The DH (dreadnought / herringbone) is a replica of the pre-war Martin D28 Herringbone and is a total beast.... including an Adirondack Spruce custom top! Thanks KG & SCGC!!!
Also recently
added a beautiful new Martin
D-41 to the collection ....
just in time for the sessions with Larry! My thanks
